How to Clear Browsing History

How to Clear History, Cookies, Cache and Temporary Internet Files in IE

This will guide you in how to clear your history, cookies, cache, temporary internet files in Internet explorer

1. Open the browser

2. In Internet Explorer go to the Tools menu or the spoke icon in the upper right hand corner

3. Click Internet Options, A new window opens and under the “General Tab” click the Delete button

4. A new window will open

a. Ideally, select all the check boxes however if you have data stored such as passwords you may want to uncheck those boxes. 

b. Click Delete

5. Click Ok

6. Close the browser down and reopen and log back in

 This will guide you in how to clear your history, cookies, cache, temporary internet files in Chrome

1. Open the browser

2. In Chrome select Customize and Control in the upper right hand corner

4. A new page will open.  Select Clear browsing data in the left hand column

5. A new window will open

a. Select the time frame to delete data.  Ideally select 'the beginning of time' but based on what you need to keep you may need to select a smaller window.  Try to go as far back as you can to ensure you clear what might be causing the issue.

b. Ideally, select all the check boxes however if you have data stored such as passwords you may want to uncheck those boxes. 

c. Click Clear browsing data

5. Close the browser down, reopen and log back in

This will guide you in how to clear your history, cookies, cache, temporary internet files in Firefox

1. Open the browser, select the Orange Firefox dropdown in the top left corner and scroll to History -> Clear Recent History.

2. A new window will open

a. Ideally, select Everything for the “Time range to clear”, expand “Details” and select all the check boxes, however if you have data stored such as passwords you may want to       uncheck those boxes. 

b. Click Clear Now

3. Close the browser down and reopen and log back in
